The City of Tempe has asked local non-profit “AZ Hugs” to put a pause on its “Sunday Family Picnic” event, where unhoused people are given food and connected with shelters and other services, due to what it says are saftey concerns.

Austin Davis with AZ Hugs says he has no plans to stop the event and believes it is a key resource for unhoused people in the community.
