LT(jg) Gerald “Jerry” Hecht entered the United States Navy shortly after graduating from the University of Cincinnati Pharmacy College in May 1952. While in the Navy, he completed three deployments to the western Pacific, at times operating off the coast of the Korean Peninsula at the height of the Korean War. He is one of seven Grand Marshals of the 2023 Phoenix Veterans Day parade.
