Ending months of speculation, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones announced this week he is running for governor in 2026. He enters the race as the candidate with the most money on hand, while Attorney General Chris Carr is trailing in the fundraising category, as are Democrats Keisha Lance Bottoms and state Sen. Jason Esteves.
