About this episode

For nearly two decades, Valorie Lawson has been the face of WSFA 12 News in the evenings doing what she always knew she would end up doing.

For Val, TV news wasn’t something she considered. It was what she pursued for as long as she can remember. Now, she doesn’t intend to do it anywhere else.

She and I work in the same newsroom, but our shifts are scheduled at opposite ends of the day. So we don’t get to spend much time together until this conversation about juggling this job with her husband and two daughters. Why this is the place she chose to unpack her boxes, and why Val believes she was made for TV.
