Kelly Hee is the Director of Mental Health Care Services for University of Hawaiʻi Athletics. Hee joined UH in 2020, right in the thick of the COVID pandemic, and as a former NCAA Division I athlete herself, she understands firsthand the demands of college sports. Today, she serves as a critical resource for hundreds of student-athletes and coaches across UH's athletic programs. In this episode, Hee talks about her journey to Mānoa, the growing external pressures facing today's college athlete, and why the mental side of sports can often be more challenging than anything that happens on the field of play.
