The Michigan Court of Claims is being asked to delay orders to boost the state’s minimum wage and require employers to provide earned sick leave. The rulings say the Legislature violated the State Constitution by adopting and then changing two petition-initiated laws in 2018. Otherwise, the initiatives would have gone to the ballot.
