A jury acquitted Michael Jackson-Bolanos of first-degree murder last week in relation to the stabbing death of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll last fall. Now prosecutors are deciding whether they want to re-try the case on the two counts of felony murder and home invasion that left the jury deadlocked. Also, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill this week that will prohibit criminal defense attorneys from using a victims sexual orientation or gender identity as a defense argument.
