Have you ever looked at your packed calendar and thought, “How did being busy become proof that I’m doing life right?”
Girl Talk is BACK, and Carol, Kelly and Tricia are kicking off a brand-new season called Things Jesus Never Said with one a lot of us have believed: “Your worth comes from your productivity.”
After taking the summer off, the girls are catching up and talking honestly about burnout, overcommitting, perfectionism and that nagging feeling that we need to do a little more, serve a little more or get ourselves together before we can really feel good about who we are.
But what happens when that same mindset starts creeping into our relationship with God?
Tricia shares honestly about how hard it can be to believe she is fully loved by God without earning it. Kelly talks about learning the difference between our job and God’s job as we become more like Jesus. And Carol brings the conversation back to where it always needs to go: what God has actually said in His Word.
Jesus never said your value goes up when you accomplish more. You are loved because you are His.
Maybe freedom begins when we stop trying to do things for love and learn to live from it.
