I am starting my 19th year teaching 7th grade language arts.  I teach with my older sister (shocking to our family who watched us fight as kids!). I am sponsor to my school's 3-time championship team Battle of the Books. However, my district is struggling with budget.  All and any supplies go a long way.

I work with mainly 10th grade students who have mild/moderate disabilities and receive special education  services and supports. I am a special education teacher, and my students on my caseload primarily struggle in math, but also in overall academic areas. I join students both on my caseload and not in the general education classroom for math, as well as provide more intensive support outside of the general education setting in a math intervention class. Every school year, I am blown away by the resilience and determination of my students. Most of them can't afford basic supplies, most of them have been told they can't their entire school experience, yet they continue to show up and try every single day. Rangeview is a very special community that I am so lucky to be apart of.

I am a 4th grade literacy teacher in Aurora!  With so much technology today, I try to help my students develop a love of reading!  I do book club groups so that students can find interesting literature to develop reading skills, while being able to discuss the book with their peers!  Please help me replace well loved books, along with new titles for my students to discover!

At this time, I believe I’m the third longest serving Affective Needs teacher in Adams 12 as I begin my 16th year. This means I serve students with emotional & behavioral disabilities. These are the students that have the most impact on a school building, but who are given the fewest resources.

I adore my students and do everything I can to advocate for them so they can receive equitable opportunities in education and social opportunities. My classroom is sometimes the only consistent home they know and is a place where they can be authentic and grow into the best versions of themselves. I serve students who receive special education services in the areas of behavior, executive function and social-emotional wellness. My students often have severe ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD, Anxiety/Depression, PTSD and/or a history of trauma. My students & I appreciate any & all support you provide for my Affective Needs program/classroom.

As I'm sure everyone says, I truly work in the best place, with the most impactful students. Last fall, I finished up my student teaching and was days away from moving to Florida when I was approached about a desperate need in a 1st grade classroom at another school in the district. I accepted the position and struggled initially. Most of my students come from low income/struggling homes, are new comers to the country, or are in other very unique hardships. Many of my students went home at the end of the day to cabinets without food and washers that didn't work. This was a very hard adjustment but one that truly changed my life. These kids became my world; I learned to advocate hard for the things they need and deserve, I learned to fight for equity, I learned the value of showing up at art shows or sporting events, I learned the joy in the small things, I learned truly how important community is.

I am gearing up for an exciting year with my upcoming kindergarten class! I've built a list filled with essentials to help them succeed: Math & Letters: Peg boards and sorting games for foundational skills. Fine Motor: Colored tapes, paper rolls, and punches for coordination. Social Skills: Fun stamps and prize box rewards to celebrate milestones. As a science teacher, my needs are large and diverse. I teach in a rural school, which means that I teach all of the sciences: astronomy, zoology, chemistry, biology, earth science, etc. 

Due to this, I have to purchase a wide variety of items, some of which need to be replaced every year, such as dissection specimens and chemicals. 

Since I teach in a rural district, it also means that my budget is smaller, so I try to get as much help as possible through donations and Donors Choose. However, this isn't always enough.

I always try to introduce my students to new ideas and new technology so they can be competitive in the workplace. More and more companies are using items such as laser engravers, 3D printers, and drones. All of this technology comes at a price though, especially 3D printers and laser engravers that always need materials to be replenished. I like my students to have as many hands-on activities as possible because that is how they learn better. Any help toward that goal is very much appreciated.

 I teach 8th grade History (Revolution-Civil War) in a Title 1 school in Arvada, CO. I have a wonderful classroom library that I've been building for 13 years now with the goal of having a book that every student would want to borrow.

 I also am continuing to add to my general classroom supplies since most of my students are not able to supply their own. This includes snacks and fidgets for my ever hungry and fidgety teenage students. I want to ensure that their basic needs are met so they can focus on being students. One thing that they are often missing is backpacks. Finally, a lot of our unit projects include some sort of art component whether it's writing a poem, op-ed, painting, or collaging. So, I also have quite a few art supplies on my list. Thank you in advance for any help!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my classroom wish list! Every item on this list has been carefully chosen to help create a welcoming, organized, and engaging learning environment for my second graders.

Some of the items will help teach important life skills, like desk organizers and other organizational tools that encourage independence and responsibility. I've also included research-based intervention materials to support students in small groups, SEL books to help build kindness and emotional skills, and name tags to help us start the year off strong. You'll also find a window shade to improve safety during lockdown and secure drills, along with a few treasure box prizes to celebrate hard work and positive choices.

Items Needed :  Capsule toys, Play-doh, Folders, magnetic math signs, several books like Enemy Pie (book about kindness)   

After 16 years of teaching, I’m starting an exciting new chapter at a new school. While I can’t wait to meet my new 2nd graders, it also feels like I’m starting my very first year all over again as I build a classroom from the ground up. I’ve had the joy of teaching 2nd grade for the past 9 years, and my goal is to create a welcoming, engaging space where every student feels loved, supported, and excited to learn.
Clearing my classroom wishlist would help provide the books, supplies, and learning tools my students deserve, allowing me to focus on what matters most helping them grow and succeed.
