‘Some judges just aren’t working full time’: Robb Pitts goes ‘On The Record’
Description

Fulton County Commission Chair Robb Pitts is facing two challengers in next year’s midterm elections from within his own party, as political and community leaders struggle over a range of problems and controversies facing one of Georgia’s most populated counties.

Pitts goes On The Record With Atlanta News First this week.

  • Enough fireworks erupted Wednesday at the state capitol to last through the American semi quincentennial. After months of legal maneuvering and political gamesmanship, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis finally testified before a state Senate committee investigating her historic indictment of Donald Trump and 18 of his GOP allies. Willis frequently berated and accused the committee’s GOP leadership of trying to score political points at her expense, particularly since four of the committee’s leaders are seeking statewide office in Georgia’s nationally watched 2026 midterms.
  • Longtime Georgia state representative Roger Bruce was defeated in his bid to win the seat held by current candidate for governor, Jason Esteves. Jaha Howard defeated Bruce to represent Senate District 35.
  • President Donald Trump addressed the nation this week in a Wednesday primetime address.
